Regulations ScreeningClub
- The 24th International Children's Film and Television and New Media Festival Cinekid will take place from 20 to 29 October 2010 in Amsterdam.
- Cinekid is an independent festival organized by the Cinekid Foundation and is a member of the International Centre of Films for Children and Young People (CIFEJ) Montreal and the European Children's Film Association (ECFA).
- The festival aims to provide a survey of the best new international children's films and television productions and wants to stimulate the discussion on quality in children's and youth media.
- The festival programme comprises the following sections:
- International feature films for children and young people, 4-14 years (competition)
- International children's and youth documentaries
- Recent Dutch children's and youth films (features and shorts)
- TV productions (national and international)
- New media productions
- International Panorama
- The ScreeningClub consists of up to 250 selected film and television productions for children.
- (Inter)national productions for Children and Youth produced in 2009 / 2010 can be selected for the ScreeningClub.
- Productions can be entered by digitally submitting a complete ScreeningClub entry form and one DVD screener by mail. Please note that the DVD copy will not be returned unless requested.
- Selected productions will be included in the ScreeningClub catalogue.
- The entry forms are to be sent on before 15 September 2010 and are to be accompanied by one DVD.
- Cinekid will send a report on which productions have been screened by which buyers and/or producers to the submitting companies.
- The submission of an entry implies acceptance of these rules.
General requirements
- The film/series should be the final cut. The color correction and sound mix should also be final.
- If the programme is not in the English language, copies with English subtitles must be provided.
The technical specifications for the DVD
- The DVD must have subtitles burned-in and one audio stream. No language menu.
- Each episode should be on a separate DVD. The DVD should not contain a menu with different video files.
- The DVD should not be copy protected.
- The DVD shouldn't begin with a black screen or test chart.
- The DVD should have the highest possible encoding options. Please use two-pass MPEG2 encoding.
